Back in 2015 I was frustrated watching students damage their smart phones in the ceramics studio and wanted to develop forms that would keep the phone safe from water and dust, while improving the over all volume and sound quality.
This initial exploration grew into a greater interest in the design possibilities of marring the ubiquitous technologies of mobile devices with the outmoded technologies of ceramics. The results appear to meet at the intersection of vintage~audio & transistor~radio.
